Meet the Trainees: Joseph Dean
On arrival for my first day, I knew I had picked the right firm to undertake my training contract. Everyone was extremely welcoming and the thorough induction process meant that I was fully briefed on what to expect over the course of the next two years. It was good to know that I was participating in an award winning training scheme, with a firm with an excellent reputation.
The experience I have gained in my first seat in the Corporate and Commercial department has been broad. I have been involved with various types of work from the very start (my supervisor had cc’d me into emails with specific instructions before I had even opened my first emails) and have been responsible for a number of files.
Despite the intense nature of a first seat, balancing getting to grips with general skills such as dictation with trying to apply years of study in a practical context, TS&P’s open door policy means that there is always someone willing to guide me. The fact that I sit in the same room as my supervisor (not as scary as it first sounds), means any issues that arise can quickly be resolved.
So far, TS&P have exceeded my expectations and I am looking forward to what the next 18 months will bring.
