Acquisition of Attitude Magazine

Thomson Snell & Passmore acted for Stream Publishing Limited in relation to its acquisition of Attitude Media Limited. the Corporate & Commercial Team, led on the transaction.

Attitude Media Limited is the company behind the leading LGBT magazine, Attitude, who have had the likes of Prince William, Daniel Radcliffe and Gary Barlow appearing on its covers.

Darren Styles, the CEO and owner of Stream Publishing, was recently named one of 2016 OUTstanding executives by the Financial Times. He said about the acquisition:
“By bringing Attitude into the Stream family, it can enjoy the support of a larger publisher with greater resources, but – given our entrepreneurial nature – continue to enjoy the freedom and independence a title with maverick tendencies sometimes needs.”

The acquisition of Attitude was complicated by various intellectual property issues regarding certain IP assets.
