  • Overview

James Cahan, specialist personal injury lawyer based at Thomson Snell & Passmore’s Tunbridge Wells and Dartford (Thames Gateway) Offices, has secured over £17,000 for a lorry driver whose finger was crushed by a faulty tail lift on the back of his vehicle, after his employers failed to provide him with a replacement.

The claimant was a 43 year old lorry driver who was employed by the defendant, Night Freight suffered a severe crush injury to the index finger of his right hand following a defect in the mechanism on the tail-lift of the lorry he was using caused by severe corrosion.

We were able to obtain an admission of liability from the defendants and after obtaining reports from a Hand and Plastic Surgeon expert we were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £17,000 for the claimant, to compensate him for his pain and suffering, as well as any future medical treatment he now may need.

James Cahan has significant experience in accident at work claims. If you would like to ask James a question about a potential case, or if you have a general query about any personal injury, contact him on 01892 701289 in confidence.
