James Cahan, specialist personal injury lawyer based at Thomson Snell & Passmore’s Tunbridge Wells and Dartford (Thames Gateway) Offices, has secured over £17,000 for a lorry driver whose finger was crushed by a faulty tail lift on the back of his vehicle, after his employers failed to provide him with a replacement.
The claimant was a 43 year old lorry driver who was employed by the defendant, Night Freight suffered a severe crush injury to the index finger of his right hand following a defect in the mechanism on the tail-lift of the lorry he was using caused by severe corrosion.
We were able to obtain an admission of liability from the defendants and after obtaining reports from a Hand and Plastic Surgeon expert we were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £17,000 for the claimant, to compensate him for his pain and suffering, as well as any future medical treatment he now may need.
