Charitable causes
The firm maintains an active programme of events involving all staff to raise funds for the firm's chosen charity. A charity is normally selected for a period of two years. For 2011 and 2012 staff jointly nominated Kent Air Ambulance Trust.
Kent Air Ambulance Trust relieves sick and injured people across the South East and surrounding areas by providing a Helicopter Emergency Medical and air ambulance service for the benefit of the community. The Air Ambulance saves vital minutes and lives, responding to serious trauma and other emergencies.
- It costs £3.4 million a year to fund which is paid almost entirely by voluntary donations.
- Costs between £1500 to £2000 per mission
- Costs £1.7 million each year to run a 12 hour, 7 day service, 365 days a year
- Fly on average 2-3 times per day
- From their base in Marden, they can fly to the furthest part of the county in 17 minutes.
- Available to every person living, working and travelling through the county each day.
- Kent Air Ambulance Trust has two helicopters so costs have doubled to £3.4 million per year.
