Thomson Snell & Passmore advises on sale of independent Lloyd’s broker

Thomson Snell & Passmore has advised on the sale of the entire issued share capital of Lloyd’s insurance broker, John Bannerman Limited, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal brings the combined value of deals advised on by the corporate and commercial team in the last year, which at ten lawyers strong makes it one of the largest corporate teams in the South East, to over £100 million.

Corporate partner, James Herbert, assisted by solicitor, Jennifer Edwards, advised the Company’s majority shareholder.  Cumberland Ellis advised the purchaser, Michael Rendell Limited.

James commented: "We really enjoyed working with all of the parties involved in this transaction to achieve a successful conclusion.  This deal was one of the many that we have completed over the past two quarters. With our depth of experience (domestic and cross-border), coupled with the size of the department we are well placed to advise clients on virtually all types of M&A transaction, whether they are based in the South East, London or elsewhere."
