Press releaseThomson Snell & Passmore announces new Senior Partner Leading South East firm Thomson Snell & Passmore announces the appointment of James Partridge as the firm’s new Senior Partner, following the retirement of Michael Sugden who held the post for four years. James, who was voted in unanimously by the Partnership to his new post, has been with Thomson Snell & Passmore since 1986 and has headed up the Corporate and Commercial Department since 2000. In his new role, James will work closely with the Management Team, which includes Practice Manager, Mark Day. James takes over at an exciting time in the development of Thomson Snell & Passmore: the firm's fee income has increased by £1 million this year to £14.7 million. James is recognised as a ‘leader in his field’ in Corporate Finance by the Chambers independent guide to the legal profession. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate structures and has particular knowledge of the road construction, food production, property and professional services sectors. James’ key areas of focus over the coming year will include business development and client service, recruitment, developing talent, and planning for the effects of the Legal Services Act. Commenting on his new appointment, James said: “I’m honoured to be taking over from Michael who has done a superb job in leading the firm and whose retirement to France is well deserved. We have a fantastic team of people working across the firm and one of my key goals will be to nurture and develop our talent with the aim of delivering even higher standards of client service in a market that is experiencing unprecedented change. The Legal Services Act is going to change the way we work in many areas and we have to ensure we are well prepared to take advantage of the challenges ahead.”
