Press releaseThomson Snell & Passmore announces latest round of promotions Leading South East law firm, Thomson Snell & Passmore, today announces a number of significant promotions with the appointment of two new Equity Partners, four Salaried Partners, two Senior Associates and four Associates. This latest round of promotions brings the total number of Partners at the firm to 38 and demonstrates the strong financial performance of Thomson Snell & Passmore over the last year and the firm’s commitment to investing in its people. Corporate and Commercial Partners Joanne Gallagher and James Herbert have been promoted to Equity partnership. Joanne Gallagher, who joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2003, specialises in corporate finance and transactional work for public and private companies. She also advises on partnership and limited liability matters and handles a broad range of commercial work. Her recent projects include advising a US client on a reverse takeover in a £190 million transaction. James Herbert joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2006 from the Corporate department of Allen & Overy LLP. James is a corporate finance specialist with international experience, having worked in Allen & Overy’s Amsterdam office between 2001 and 2002. His recent projects include advising a world-leading telecom supplier in connection with the £1.2 billion acquisition of part of a listed UK company’s telecoms business. Nick Gabay (Corporate and Commercial), Richard Ellard (Commercial Property), Nicola Mooney (Clinical Negligence / Personal Injury) and Joanna Pratt (Family) have all been promoted to Salaried Partners. Nick Gabay joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 1997 as a trainee solicitor and specialises in all areas of corporate law, with specific expertise in advising on the tax implications and planning opportunities associated with corporate transactions. Richard Ellard joined the firm in 2006 and deals with a wide range of commercial property transactions. He advises on the real estate aspects of corporate transactions and has been involved in a number of PFI/PPP and international projects. Nicola Mooney joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2005 from Hodge Jones & Allen in London where she headed the clinical negligence team. She is a member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel, fellow of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and has recently been appointed secretary to the Child Injury Special Interest Group at APIL. Thomson Snell & Passmore has also appointed two new Senior Associates: Justin Baker (Dispute Resolution) and Sandra Manning (Residential Conveyancing); and four new Associates: Jennifer Edwards (Corporate and Commercial), Dominique Jennings (Clinical Negligence / Personal Injury), Mark Steggles (Dispute Resolution) and Heather West (Private Client). “We are delighted to announce these promotions across the full range of our core practice areas and at all levels within the firm's career path.
