Thomson Snell & Passmore advises Thanet District Council on Eurokent  Business Park development

Thomson Snell and Passmore has advised Thanet District Council (TDC) in connection with a joint venture development with the  South East England Development Agency (SEEDA).

Work on the new two acre Eurokent Business Park started at the end of January 2008  and is likely to create up to 150 jobs in Thanet.  The development was funded in part by SEEDA (£3.5 million) with a further £1.2 million of European funding also being secured for the project. The site will be adjacent to the new Haine Road, which is now under construction.

Once completed the scheme will provide approximately 3,250m² (35,000 sq ft) of new commercial floor space, providing a direct benefit to Thanet and the East Kent area as businesses have previously needed to look outside of the area for office space or industrial units.  The new development means local businesses can remain in the area and will also provide opportunities for businesses looking to relocate. Once complete, the project will have generated an estimated £5 million of private sector investment into the area.

The team at Thomson Snell & Passmore was led by Associate Richard Ellard (Partner - Commercial Property) and included Roy Willis (Partner - Commercial Property), Chris Whittington (Partner- Construction) and John Spence (Associate - Planning).

Richard Ellard commented " The firm is delighted to have been able to advise on this project which is of strategic importance to the area.  We were able to field a great  team capable of dealing with the wide range of issues which arise on a development of this nature."

John Bunnett (Corporate Director of TDC) said "It was reassuring to know that Thomson Snell & Passmore were supporting us on this important  project.  TS&P provided a high level of service and support throughout the transaction and their assistance was invaluable".
