Residential letting agent's renewal commissions ruled unfair

John Spence was recently asked to comment on a case regarding the ruling of the High Court in the case of the Office of Fair Trading v Foxtons Limited, which saw the Court find that the renewal commissions that Foxtons charged its buy-to-let residential landlord clients were unfair and should not be used. The decision is of importance to both residential landlords and letting agents alike.
