Thomson Snell & Passmore announces latest round of promotions

Thomson Snell & Passmore today announces a significant number of promotions with the appointment of two new Equity Partners, a Salaried Partner, two Senior Associates and an Associate.
The latest promotions display Thomson Snell & Passmore's continued commitment to investing in its people despite the recession. This latest round of promotions brings the total number of partners to 38 and lawyers to 57.
Private Client Partner Martin Terrell and Commercial Property Partner Richard Ellard have been promoted to Equity partnership. Martin Terrell, a specialist in the fields of probate and elderly client work, recently authored A Practitioner's Guide to the Court of Protection and is a joint editor and contributor to the Law Society's Elderly Client Handbook. He has also acted as a panel receiver for the Court of Protection, and is vice chairman of Solicitors for the Elderly.
Richard Ellard joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2006 from a Kent firm having previously been a Managing Associate in Linklaters London office. His expertise in Commercial Property includes specialist knowledge of investment acquisitions and disposals, regeneration, renewal and development projects, and in advising on the property aspects of corporate transactions. His recent work has included leading the team advising a further education college, in connection with the construction of a new £35 million college including property, construction and procurement advice.
Thomson Snell & Passmore also promotes Jonathan Clement to a Salaried Partner. Jonathan is a fully qualified Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and will be made a Partner under the new Solicitors Code of Conduct 2007 and SRA's Recognised Bodies Regulations 2009, which allows non-solicitors to become Partners in a Legal Disciplinary Practice.
Thomson Snell & Passmore has further appointed two new Senior Associates; Brian Bacon in Private Client, and James Willis in Employment, and one Associate; Alex Drake in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury.
