Thomson Snell & Passmore boosts Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury department with new partner hire

Thomson Snell & Passmore has announced a major hire for its Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury department with the appointment of Fiona Mills, who joins the firm as a partner.

Fiona joins the firm from Pictons where she was the Partner in charge of clinical negligence and branch managing partner of the firm's Milton Keynes office. Fiona had previously been partner in charge of Clinical Negligence at Bolt Burdon in London. Fiona has worked on several high profile and complex cases and in 2008 recovered the equivalent of £4.1m in a case involving brain damage following cardiac arrest caused by the negligent failure to diagnose Long QT Syndrome. 

Fiona is acknowledged as a leader in the field of claimant clinical negligence litigation by Chambers and Partners Guide to the Legal Profession. The 2007 edition described her as "proficient and highly personable, held in high regard by both her clients and peers for her shrewd grasp of the issues". The 2008 edition referred to her as “not resting on her laurels". Her "user friendly demeanour and sympathetic attitude towards her clients" was also highlighted, as was her extremely firm grip of the field and for her persistence on even the toughest cases. She is also recommended by Legal 500.

Fiona will be working alongside Head of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Patricia Fearnley, who is also recognised as a leader in the field of clinical negligence in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners guides.
