Donation to Kent Air Ambulance Trust in lieu of Christmas cards
23/11/2011
As in previous years, we have decided to put the funds that would otherwise have been spent on Christmas cards to a more long-term use.
We are proud to support Kent Air Ambulance Trust who relieve sick and injured people across the South East and surrounding areas by providing a Helicopter Emergency Medical and air ambulance service for the benefit of the community. The Air Ambulance saves vital minutes and lives, responding to serious trauma and other emergencies.
- It costs £3.4 million a year to fund which is paid almost entirely by voluntary donations.
- Costs between £1500 to £2000 per mission
- Costs £1.7 million each year to run a 12 hour, 7 day service, 365 days a year
- Fly on average 2-3 times per day
- From their base in Marden, they can fly to the furthest part of the county in 17 minutes.
- Available to every person living, working and travelling through the county each day.
- Kent Air Ambulance Trust has two helicopters so costs have doubled to £3.4 million per year.
The firm is actively involved with other charitable causes in the community. Read more about our recent fundraising efforts.
