The seminar will include a current overview of the market and cover topics such as how to value your business, the legal process of a sale and minimising your tax bill. Points will be illustrated with practical examples drawn from real-life cases.
Regulatory
Regulatory compliance can be a never ending burden for businesses. This practical seminar will guide you through the Carbon Reduction Commitment, the trends in health and safety enforcement and their implications and competition law compliance. The focus will be on what these issues mean in practice and on the steps that businesses should be taking to cope.
Construction and property litigation
This wide ranging seminar will consider the current state of the property market and the remedies that commercial landlords should be looking to pursue as a result and topical issues relating to town and country planning. We will also consider the question of effective security for construction projects and what happens when projects proceed under letters of intent.
Buying a business
If you are planning acquisition activity this practical seminar will guide you through the process of buying a business step-by-step – from dealing with where to look for a business to buy, understanding the due diligence process to know what you are buying, distressed sales in the current economy and the legal process of an acquisition.
Commercial property
The seminar will provide a practical update on the ever changing and challenging planning regime. Collaborative approaches to property development will also be considered including development agreements, joint ventures, profit share arrangements and development finance together with a look at the associated benefits and/or risks.
