  • Overview

Leading South East law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore is pleased to be offering a highly practical and interactive three hour training session designed for managers and line managers who have direct responsibility for dealing with grievances and disciplinaries.

The training session has been created to give front line managers the confidence to deal with grievances and disciplinaries and provide them with the “know how” for dealing with the sometimes difficult issues that get thrown up by employees along the way.

The training session was first class, bringing to life the reality of dealing with difficult employment situations. Our managers found the session to be very engaging, informative and supportive, They were left feeling far better equipped to manage these issues in a suitable fashion and have learnt how to avoid the hidden pitfalls that can lead, albeit unintentionally, towards the tribunal. A powerful and effective training session with time well invested.

Andrea Ashman, HR Director MidKent College.

The cost of the training session is £145 per person and includes refreshments and lunch. Two sessions will be run, the first on the 28 November 2013 at the De Vere Village Hotel, Maidstone and the second on the 22 January 2014 at The River Centre, Tonbridge. If you have any managers you believe would benefit from this training session we would strongly recommend that you book them a place.

The training is provided through a real life case study which includes the correspondence, meeting notes and evidence in support of a disciplinary and a grievance. The case study is carried out via a series of discussions with delegates, as well as role playing by the training presenters on how to conduct an investigatory meeting properly so that attendees can observe how such a meeting should be conducted. Throughout the session there are group discussions facilitated by the training presenters. A barrister from 3 Pump Court will also assist with the training and will provide those attending with an insight on what it is like to be cross examined at Employment Tribunal by cross examining the training presenters acting out the roles of manager and HR manager on the case study materials.
