Leading South East law firm, Thomson Snell & Passmore has announced the appointment of Simon Slater as its first CEO.
Simon will work closely alongside Senior Partner James Partridge and the Board to develop further Thomson Snell & Passmore’s client services and deliver its plan for growth to 2020 – the firm’s 450th anniversary. Thomson Snell & Passmore is among the first regional firms to appoint a CEO with a non-legal background.
Fellow Board member Roland Millar becomes Finance Director and Victoria Heming, Human Resources Director, joins the Board. The enlarged Board will help drive the firm’s ambition to be a pre-eminent law firm in the South East, building on its heritage and strong presence in the region.
Thomson Snell & Passmore is one of the largest legal practices outside London with 200 staff, including over 100 lawyers. The firm is headquartered in Tunbridge Wells, with another office in Thames Gateway, where it was one of the first commercial law firms to set up in this fast growing region.
Simon takes on his CEO role having joined the Thomson Snell & Passmore last year. Over a 25 year period, he has worked with leading professional services firms, developing and implementing their business strategies. He has held a number of senior management positions with firms such as DTZ, Taylor Wessing, Eversheds and Charles Russell (now Charles Russell Speechlys). Simon has also held a number of non-executive board roles, advising professional service firms and public bodies on their leadership and management.
