Helen Waite

Helen is a Partner at Thomson Snell & Passmore and part of the Family department.

Helen helps clients with many different areas of family work. As well as divorce and financial matters arising on divorce, Helen regularly helps clients with wealth preservation planning, cohabitation agreements for unmarried couples, pre-nuptial and post nuptial agreements. Helen helps unmarried and married couples as well as those leaving civil partnerships.

Helen has a particular interest in helping clients to resolve difficulties with arrangements for children, whether it includes contact, disputes as to where the children will live, allegations of parental alienation, protective orders, adoption and special guardianship applications. Helen has many years of experience of representing clients in proceedings involving domestic abuse.

As a qualified collaborative lawyer with almost 20 years’ experience, Helen will always try to help clients to resolve matters using a collaborative approach, as constructively as possible. Helen recognises as well as the financial cost in being involved in court proceedings there is also an emotional cost. In those cases where it is not possible to resolve matters collaboratively, Helen has a proven track record in doing her best for her clients through the court process.
