Past and present projects
- Advising the shareholders on the sale of the entire issued share capital of a specialist software and consulting services UK company and its US subsidiary working in the oil and gas sector on the sale to a Scottish Company, which forms part of a global group. The value of the transaction was approximately £5 million.
- Advising the shareholders in respect of the sale of the entire issued share capital of a company specialising in industrial high end cleaning and a second separate but related company undertaking contract cleaning for an aggregate consideration of £2.4 million.
- Advising on the reorganisation of corporate group structure of a civil engineering construction, demolition, plant hire and remediation group aggregate turnover £30 million. To include thereafter implementing growth strategy and acting on the acquisition of majority controlling interests in two companies based in the asbestos removal and demolition sector.
- Advising a further education college in relation to undertaking a rescue merger for a competitor training organisation. This was a complex transaction, which involved obtaining the consent of the Learning Skills Council and the Charity Commission.

Joanne is acknowledged in leading independent guide to UK law firms, Chambers UK as a leader in her field in Corporate / M&A. In the 2011 edition, sources say Joanne is well regarded for her expertise in acquisitions and disposals, MBOS and corporate restructuring. Joanne has received the Finance monthly magazine global award for achievement 2010 in the category of commercial contracts lawyer of the year UK. She is also recommended in the Good Lawyer Guide 2010 with a five star rating.
Profile
Joanne qualified in 1994 and joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2003 from another regional law firm. She became a partner in 2006 and is based at the Thames Gateway office.
