Jonathan joined Thomson Snell and Passmore in November 1999 having previously worked in Brighton for two well known provincial firms. Having worked within general litigation including personal injury Jonathan was keen to build on his expertise in personal injury law.
Jonathan is acknowledged in leading independent guide to UK law firms, Chambers UK as a leader in his field. He is praised in the 2011 edition for his ability to make legal terminology understandable to the lay client. He is a Chartered Legal Executive, a member of the Law Society Accredited Scheme for Personal Injury and a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). Jonathan is also the South East Regional Co-ordinator for APIL.
Jonathan's particular area of interest lies within adult and child brain injury and other traumatic and catastrophic injuries. Jonathan appears on the Headway Lawyers List and also in the Child Brain Injury Trust's Legal Directory.
As a keen sportsman himself he also has an interest in sporting injury claims.
Notable cases
- Jonathan acted on behalf of a racing car driver who sustained a severe brain injury whilst instructing a member of the public. The case was settled for a significant sum shortly before trial. Prior to settlement Jonathan had already successfully secured vital rehabilitation and treatment for the client.
- He acted on behalf of a male contestant who sustained a fractured back in the television gameshow 'Gladiators' following an encounter with one of the gladiators who was disqualified for not obeying the rules. Jonathan negotiated a substantial settlement on behalf of the client shortly before the matter was due to be heard at trial.
- He negotiated a settlement on behalf of a commercial airline pilot in the sum of £600,000. His client fractured her back in a road traffic accident which left her unable to pursue her career.
- Jonathan is currently acting for a 19 year old man who suffered a severe brain injury after being knocked over by a motorcycle. Jonathan will be looking to not only secure the client's future in terms of compensation but also put together a package of rehabilitation and treatment to optimise his recovery and cope with his life changing injuries.

Profile
Jonathan is a member of the Child Brain Injury Trust and the Brain Injury Social Work Group. He regularly provides expert opinion and comment to the media. Jonathan is passionate about his work and the rights of his clients to be properly compensated for the injuries and losses they have suffered through no fault of their own.
Jonathan is father to three boys. He regularly plays cricket for his local team in the East Sussex League.
