Past and present projects
- Looking after several large groups of family trusts, both discretionary and life-interest, where day to day management includes not only the preparation of accounts and filing of tax returns but also ensuring the tax efficient distribution of monies to beneficiaries, arranging the payment of school fees and working with the investment advisors on investment matters including the best use of capital gains tax exemptions and satisfying the cash requirements of the trusts.
- Trusts which are being wound up, having terminated for a variety of reasons, including finalising matters with HM Revenue & Customs and distributing the assets to the beneficiaries.
- A large private charitable trust making many donations where monitoring the cash flow and liaising with the recipients is a vital part of the service to the trustees.
- Numerous trusts for providing an income to life tenants or distributions of income and /or capital to beneficiaries at the trustees discretion.
- Arranging for the retirement of a trustee and the appointment of a new trustee.
- Advising the new trustee about his duties, powers and responsibilities for the administration of the trust, investment of the trust funds, care of the beneficiaries and compliance with the requirements of HM Revenue & Customs.
- Preparing personal tax returns for settlors, beneficiaries and other individuals for filing with HM Revenue & Customs and advising on income tax and capital gains tax issues.
