Louise Brown

Legal Assistant

Specialisms and expertise

Louise deals with all new client enquiries which come into the department and assists all the teams in all aspects of running their cases, particularly in industrial disease work where the tracing of insurers is a crucial and specialised aspect of the work.

Louise was instrumental in the launch of both the Kent Acquired Brain Injury Forum and the annual Thomson Snell & Passmore Brain Injury Lecture and continues to be involved in the successful running of this event. She also has a pivotal role in the running of the Medway Maritime Hospital seminar on mesothelioma which is run annually, Thomson Snell & Passmore being one of the sponsors.

Notable cases

Louise assisted Alan Care in the recent successful Porton Down multi-party action against the MoD which was settled for £3 million for 359 veterans of the Porton Down chemical testing experiments, and she and Alan are continuing to act for a further 104 Porton Down veterans who came forward following the publicity from the first action.

Profile

Louise initially worked for Thomson Snell & Passmore in a secretarial capacity, including seven years working for Andrew Watson who was Head of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury.

Louise is married with two children and outside work spends much of her time raising funds for an international animal welfare charity.
