Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is about how we consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of our activities on our clients, our people, our community and the environment in all aspects of our operations.

What do we do?

Our CSR committee, made up of people from across our firm meet regularly to discuss, plan and monitor our CSR objectives.

1 Our clients

We have maintained a Lexcel quality accreditation since 1999 meaning our clients are getting an industry recognised level of service and ensures that we are able to attract and retain experienced and knowledgeable people.

Our clients are at the forefront of all we do and every decision we make. We take the time to listen to our clients so that we can deliver a quality service that meets their needs in every way. We help our clients by providing suitable office accommodation and meeting facilities with ground floor meeting rooms and disability access and parking as required.

2 Our people

Our people, along side our heritage, is what makes us unique. We take pride in our heritage and culture which are rooted in our core values.

We have a strong predisposition towards personal development for all, which enables us to meet our clients changing needs.

We operate a transparent career development programme and encourage career progression.

Our sports and social committee arrange regular opportunities for us all to come together as a way of creating our own community at work.

3 Community & charitable causes

We are actively involved in our local community and it is through fundraising and volunteering that we think we make a difference.

We regularly sponsor local events and provide pro bono support to the local Citizens Advice Bureau. Our people serve on the boards of various organisations and are Governors of local schools and trustees of charities on a voluntary basis.

We are also actively involved with the National Citizens Service working closely with The Challenge Network, introducing young people to the world of work and helping them with their Dragon’s Den pitches.

Charitable causes

Our people have chosen two charities to promote and support during 2017 and 2019. These are Tree of Hope and Ellenor.

We will be maintaining an active programme of events which will provide all of our people with the opportunity of getting involved in raising funds, volunteering and learning about the worthy causes.

4 Environment

We believe that respect for the environment is essential. Below are a few examples of how we work towards protecting our environment.

  • confidential waste paper bins are available in every room, for shredding and recycling
  • use technology to reduce printing and waste
  • use energy efficient technology
  • comply with environmental legislation
  • operate a firm-wide 'switch off' policy
  • reduce the consumption of materials and promote the use of existing or recycled materials
  • recycle waste in place of disposal where possible (toner cartridges, light tubes, etc.)
