We recognise that our business activities have an impact on both the local and global environment. We are committed to respecting and protecting these environments as much as we can and operate within clear limits to minimise our contribution to climate change and pollution.
- New technology – when old technology and equipment is being replaced, we source the most energy efficient solutions and dispose of existing equipment ethically and recycle where possible
- Energy efficiency – we aim to reduce our electricity consumption wherever possible and implement a firmwide “switch off” policy
- Consumables such as batteries, toner cartridges and fluorescent tubes are recycled
- Recycling of furniture – old and unwanted furniture is given to local charities to avoid going to landfill
- General recycling – includes all paper, lever arch files, cardboard and glass
- Promotional items are selected to reinforce our environmental policy, for example, reusable water bottles and coffee thermos cups
- Drinking water – the installation of mains fed water chillers has greatly reduced waste and energy costs
- Postage stamps are collected and given to charity
- Paper supplies – most of our paper is from recycled sources
- Paper usage - policies and procedures are in place to discourage usage, for example, duplex print by default
- Paper storage – the implementation of an e filing and paper light policy has hugely reduced this
- Travel to work – the firm encourages the use of public transport, car sharing and cycling to work.
