Our Commercial Property team were delighted to act for Eastgate Church on its relocation to a new site in Springhead Parkway in the Ebbsfleet Valley. Springhead Park is a joint venture development by Countryside Properties and Land Securities.
The church came to us for advice on the creation of a multi million pound worship and community facility to serve the needs of local residents.
We were able to help by investigating the site from a legal viewpoint, to identify any areas of concern that could impact on the client’s proposed development. Our work also involved negotiating complex agreements with the landlord, setting out the obligations each party will have in relation to the construction and ongoing management of the new building.
Since the initial acquisition, the church has created an amazing space featuring an upstairs auditorium for the congregation and a downstairs mixed-use area with a café as a central hub. As part of our role, we were also able to draw on our secured lending experience to put in place third party finance to support the project. We have recently been able to assist the church in refinancing with an alternative lender on more favourable terms.
