Our client operates a distribution yard, with use and occupation of the demise key to business operations. The client faced a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) in relation to part of the distribution yard. Purchase of the demise would have a knock-on effect on the client’s distribution strategy and the size of vehicles able to use the facility.

We advised on the suitability and mechanisms used to accept a financial offer on the parcel of land, and the commerciality of doing so. We also provided advice on the procedures involved with the CPO, and the client’s attendance and representation at the associated inquiry.
