Dealing with uncertainties with the extent of land ownership

Thomson Snell & Passmore recently acted for a client who was in the process of selling a substantial property in East Sussex when he discovered an irregularity with the boundary line at the Land Registry.

After initial investigations, we managed to identify that there was an error during the process of the original registration and were able to provide material to support our client’s case. We presented a prompt and concise application for adverse possession on our client’s behalf, which was accepted by the Land Registry and processed successfully within a matter of weeks.

Our client managed to keep his buyer happy throughout the process and the sale was completed without any further complications.
