  • Overview

    We advised a client in connection with a claim by the owner of adjoining land that the land owned by the neighbour had drainage rights over our client’s land.  The neighbour claimed that the right entitled them to lay pipes for the benefit of a new house and to connect those pipes to the existing drainage system.  We were able to successfully demonstrate the rights benefiting the adjoining land are limited and are not as extensive as those claimed by the neighbour.  This meant our client’s much-loved garden was not subjected to substantial interference.  We were able to achieve this whilst at the same time ensuring that our client and her neighbour remain on good terms.
