Thomson Snell & Passmore has secured a compensation aware for a former plant production operator / impregnator who developed Platinum Salts allergy whilst working at a platinum processing plant.
D, a former plant production operator, developed Platinum Salts allergy following his employment at the defendant’s platinum processing plant in Enfield.
D’s job at that time had been to mix the platinum solution into 2,000 litres of water. The equipment provided by the defendants for D to use to complete this job was faulty. The equipment contained a hose and D informed us that the hose connection used to leak. D explained that the plant floor was covered in platinum salts from leaks and there was platinum dust everywhere.
D had been employed by the plant as an agency worker and had been hoping to take on a permanent position prior to his allergy attack. Following his decline in health the defendant’s dismissed D on the basis of ill health. This had been the case for a number of its employees.
Thomson Snell & Passmore Senior made a claim on D’s behalf, claiming that the defendant was negligent in their working practices.
The claim was settled in full.
