We advised our client, a Kent based fruit grower and distributor, on the construction of their new fruit packing and distribution centre. The centre is to be built by the client’s landlord and the client will fit-out the centre following construction.
We advised on several aspects of the construction, including Agreement for Lease construction elements, drafting the construction documentation suite and vetting the construction suite for, and proposed by, the landlord. We provided unusual ‘mirrored’ construction documents, due to the same contractor and consultants being employed for both the landlord’s works and client’s works. We are currently monitoring the project and ensuring that all the correct warranty documents are produced and delivered as required.
Due for completion in 2019, the centre will be vital for the client’s ability to grow and maximise its potential, significantly increasing their capacity and providing hundreds of local job opportunities.
