Our Dispute Resolution team advised Executors on a claim brought by estranged family member

We advised Executors on a claim brought by an estranged son of the deceased against the Estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Court proceedings were issued by the estranged son and we assisted the clients on all aspects of the claim to its recent settlement.  As the class of beneficiaries under the Will included minors and unborn beneficiaries and their interests in the light of the settlement had to be considered by the Court we advised and represented the Executors at the Court approval hearing.
