Thomson Snell & Passmore acted for a couple wishing to sell their 70 acre farm in Kent and relocate to a 143 acre holding in Somerset. The team at Thomson Snell & Passmore had to overcome several challenges. -: because of historical planning issues with the Kent farm, our clients were unable to sell that holding as fast as they would have liked. They also needed funding for the move which proved difficult given the uncertainty of completion of the Kent farm taking place within a fixed timescale. With the help of a specialist rural broker, finance was arranged and Thomson Snell & Passmore coordinated completion of the sale with the move to the Somerset. A happy result was achieved and the clients are now establishing a hunting, shooting and walking B&B as part of their farm diversification as well as expanding their beef herd and sheep flock. Our experience in complex commercial property transactions and financing matters allowed us to keep all parties focused during this transaction and drive the transaction towards a successful completion.
