Thomson Snell & Passmore advise on complex purchase of land owned by the Diocese

Thomson Snell & Passmore were asked to take over the purchase of a building and land in a rural community for a housing association from another firm who were not acting as the client wanted.

The transaction proved to be more complex than originally thought. Although the client was a long time lessee of the property, there were complications in the unregistered freehold title owned by the Diocese as well as boundary issues, access rights over common land and the parish council and a requirement to licence back part of the property to the local church.

We established a good working relationship with the solicitors acting for the Diocese and progressed the purchase of the property to the client’s entire satisfaction.
