Help with civil partnerships
Since 2005, same sex couples have been able to enter into registered civil partnerships and since 2014, same sex couples have been able to enter into marriage. In 2019, legislation was also introduced to allow opposite couples to enter into civil partnerships.
Whilst same sex couples can now legally marry in England and Wales, a civil partnership is considered an alternative to the traditional or religious aspects of marriage. A registered civil partnership confers similar rights, obligations and duties as those conferred upon married couples but outside of the institution of marriage. A civil partnership can help afford you protection, both legally and financially, and our team of civil partnership lawyers can discuss with you the rights and responsibilities arising from civil partnerships.
