Alisa Sweeney from the Commercial Property Team has been delighted to work with restaurant operator, Sticks ‘n’ Sushi, to secure a new site at London’s prestigious Nova Victoria.
Alisa has been working closely with the Chief Operations Officer, Andreas Karlsson, of the sushi and yakitori restaurant group since the company opened their first UK restaurant in Wimbledon back in 2012.
Nova Food at the new development in London’s Victoria will be one of a total of 17 new restaurants and 3 pop up kiosks when fully opened and the new Sticks ‘n’ Sushi will open its doors to eager customers in a couple of months.
In common with other high end developments the lead in period to get to the fitting out stage (was started a few weeks ago for our client) and opening was lengthy and after S n S agreed with the developer the heads of terms Alisa has worked closely with the Sticks ‘n’ Sushi team since early the summer in 2015 to get to this stage.
Sticks ‘n’ Sushi was founded in 1994 in Denmark and is a well established brand in Copenhagen operating 13 sites around the country and last year also opened a new restaurant in Berlin. The menu specialises in sushi, sashimi and yakitori served either as small sharing plates or on a large platter. No restaurant looks the same, each is individually and meticulously designed to suit the building in which it is situate.
Since the Wimbledon opening Alisa has helped the brand open 3 other sites in London at Canary Wharf, Covent Garden and Wimbledon and another in Cambridge. Another restaurant will also be opening at a similar time to Nova this year at the redevelopment of Oxford’s Westgate Centre which will deliver 800,000 square feet of global retail brands, restaurants, cafes and a five screen boutique cinema.
Sticks ‘n’ Sushi intend to continue to expand in the right locations and Alisa looks forward to working with them to achieve their aims.
