Defra has launched a Farm Regulators’ Charter governing the standard of all types of regulated farm inspections. The aim is to enable farmers and landowners to know what they can expect from such visits and the standards to be applied.
The government says it is committed to cutting red tape for farmers so that they can focus on farming not form filling.
This Charter aims to reduce the burden on farmers by making better use of information already available and focussing on risk areas to reduce the need for or frequency of farm visits.
