Leading South East law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore has again been ranked as one of Kent’s top law firms for its private client work by the Chambers High Net Worth 2018 guide.
The firm also sees its Residential Conveyancing team being recognised UK wide for its Real estate: high value residential work – the only Kent law firm to be ranked in this section.
In addition to these firmwide rankings, Nicola Plant (Partner and Head of Private Client) and Partner Christopher Walker, have again both been ranked as leading lawyers for private wealth law in Kent and Rebecca Swain (Head of Residential Conveyancing) and Guy Hollamby are noted as leading lawyers for High Value residential work in the UK.
The publication, which is specifically aimed at the private wealth market, covers private wealth management work and related specialisms in key jurisdictions around the world, featuring in-depth editorial about the leading lawyers and law firms for wealthy individuals and families.
Interviewees say the private client team does, “a fantastic job of keeping things straightforward when dealing with complex matters and our clients are very happy with their work. We have quite complex client matters and quite a range of work so we need sophisticated legal professionals and Thomson Snell & Passmore 100% fulfils that need."
Nicola Plant is quoted as being, "hugely organised and very affable with clients", with one interviewee complimenting her client skills, saying: "It's difficult when you're talking about things being left to children but with Nicola, she makes it a lot lighter; she's got a nice warmth about her and because of that and her likeable nature, clients can put their trust in her very quickly."
Christopher Walker, who acts on estate planning, trust administration and tax matters is described as, "a respected lawyer with many years of experience dealing with complex client needs; he is trustworthy and reliably delivers clear advice."
The firm’s Residential Conveyancing department is regarded as understanding, “… the intricacies of higher-end properties," and another source says: "They are extremely good - they have a very strong team. Technically, it is a consistently high skill level, you get a consistent level of service."
Rebecca Swain, who has recently taken over from Guy Hollamby as head of department is seen by interviewees as: “Thorough, thoughtful and considered" and “a really, really professional and a lovely person."
One source says of Guy: “he stands out", adding, "I like his manner and the way he approaches the job. It's that ability to communicate which is key. “He is described by other interviewees as "enormously personable" and a "really fun guy."
These High Net Worth rankings are on top of six of the firm’s departments being ranked in the top tier and 23 lawyers being named as Leaders in their Field in the directory’s sister publication, Chambers UK 2018.
James Partridge, Senior Partner at Thomson Snell & Passmore commented, “This is a great achievement and testament to the commitment and passion that characterise our lawyers. It also reinforces our position as one of the preeminent law firms in the South East providing exceptional service to our clients.”
