Mark Politz is a Partner in the Private Client Department and has recently been promoted to Head of the Wills and Tax Planning Team. Mark has been at Thomson Snell & Passmore for over 12 years.
Mark’s specialisms and expertise include tax planning, Wills, trusts, the administration of estates and powers of attorney. He has over 20 years' experience in these areas.
Mark advises on all aspects of inheritance tax, including pre-death planning and post- death matters such as deeds of variation, which can result in significant tax savings. Mark also advises on other tax planning issues, for example, making the best use of capital gains tax reliefs and exemptions.
Mark has considerable expertise in estate planning, including the preparation of Wills, advice relating to lifetime gifts and the creation, administration and termination of trusts. He also has extensive experience in dealing with the administration of complex estates, including those with overseas assets and business/agricultural interests.
Mark is also a Chartered Tax Adviser, which is regarded as the pre-eminent tax qualification in the UK. Mark has written several articles in the legal and financial press and given presentations on inheritance tax planning.
