  • Overview

The Motorline Group currently operates a total of 52 dealerships plus 4 Trade Part Specialist centres across the UK. However, the acquisition marks Motorline’s first step into digital sales, and also dealership presence in a shopping centre.

Since the digital stores opened in Bluewater in 2014 and Westfield Stratford in 2015, both stores have had a combined annual passing footfall of 89 million and have received just under one million customers through their doors.

The transaction will further strengthen Motorline’s relationship with Hyundai, as they work closely together to ensure the continued success of the business.

The Corporate team at Thomson Snell & Passmore, led by Partner and Head of Corporate, Joanne Gallagher, advised the Motorline Group on the acquisition. Joanne was assisted by Corporate Associate, Faye Cook. Commercial Property Partner, Joanne Wright, and Solicitor, Nicole Priestley, advised on the property elements of the transaction. Ben Stepney, Senior Associate, advised on the employment aspects, and our corporate & commercial team advised on the IP/IT aspects of the transaction.

Joanne Gallagher said: "We are delighted to have advised in connection with another successful acquisition, in particular, Motorline’s first step into digital sales. The transaction marks a further step towards Motorline’s continued growth and expansion plans, and we look forward to continuing to assist the Motorline group in its future projects."
