New Corporate Partner for Thomson Snell & Passmore

Leading South East law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore has appointed Jason Varney, a corporate lawyer with significant technology sector expertise, as a Partner in its Corporate and Commercial department.

Jason specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate governance, which will add further depth and breadth to the Corporate and Commercial team. His specific sector experience, including technology and financial services, will help to bolster the firm’s wider offering in these key markets.

He joins from London firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, where he has worked for the last five years; having previously worked and trained at the global magic circle firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.  During his career Jason has also been seconded to the in-house legal teams of HSBC, Barclays and Ebury Partners.

His wider experience includes advising a NYSE-listed manufacturer of commercial automatic transmissions on its acquisition of an electric vehicle technology specialist based in London, advising a global accountancy firm on its acquisition of a digital design consultancy business, advising a large listed sports retailer on a number of acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments, working with an international car technology and lifestyle audio company on its acquisition of a Cambridge-based manufacturer of hi-fi technology and advising a London headquartered FinTech company on a 51% investment by a global bank.
