The Employment Rights Act 1996 (Itemised Pay Statement) (Amendment) Order 2018 was laid before Parliament on the 8 February 2018.
As part of the Government’s commitment in its response to the Taylor Review, discussed above, the Order will require payslips to show the number of hours paid for where the worker has an hourly rate of pay. Employers will have to from 6 April 2019 provide payslip that shows:-
- a single aggregate figure; or
- Separate figures for different types of work or different rates of pay.
We consider that this is a positive step to assist employers and workers in understanding how they have been paid and will no doubt help when it comes to conducting calculations later down the line, for example for holiday pay.
