In July 2012 Stryker Orthopedics recalled the ABG II modular neck stem hip implant. At the same time, they also recalled its Rejuvenate modular-neck system.
Both types of hip implant were found to be prone to fretting and corrosion at the modular neck junction. This can cause pain and adverse local tissue reactions as well as a need to have the hip replaced.
Anyone who has had an implant in the last 5 years should check their medical records to find out what type of implant was used. Patients are advised to contact their orthopedic surgeons.
If you have had either of these types of implants, we will be happy to provide you with a free initial consultation to discuss a potential claim with you.
