We have all been there before.
We make a new friend, we get to know them, we understand them and they understand us, we instil our trust in them and spend time building a relationship – then suddenly one day without notice they turn around and betray us.
Such experiences are regrettably not unusual, and when the betrayal is combined with money that hurt is particularly felt, which is why friendships and money rarely make good bedfellows.
A similar story was told to the High Court earlier this month in a successful action brought by two business partners, Anthony Tomlinson and Olaf Jones, against their one-time friend and former business partner John Pickup, for a breach of contract.
