Thomson Snell & Passmore organised and sponsored a twelve mile walk to raise money for Kent Air Ambulance Trust (KAAT).
A total of 21 members of staff, dressed in carnival inspired outfits paying homage to the handover of the Olympics to Rio de Janeiro, took part in the charity walk on 28 September.
Thomson Snell & Passmore changes the charity it supports every other year and for the last two years has supported KAAT which provides an air ambulance service to sick and injured people across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Air ambulance operators in England and Wales do not receive statutory funding and rely almost entirely upon the generosity of the public demonstrating the importance of such fundraising events.
The KAAT service can reach any part of Kent, Surrey or Sussex in less than 20 minutes. They bring teams of specialist doctors and paramedics to the scene of an incident and can transport patients to the appropriate hospital in a fraction of the time taken by a land ambulance.
Senior partner James Partridge said:
“The firm is delighted to have taken part in this very enjoyable walk through the picturesque Kent and Sussex countryside to raise money for this important local charity. The Kent Air Ambulance service provides vital assistance to the community and is an incredibly worthwhile cause to support.”
Director of Communications of KAAT Jill Playle said:
"We are very grateful for the support of Thomson Snell & Passmore for electing us as their ‘Charity of the Year’ and particularly to all those people who so enthusiastically took part in a sponsored walk for the charity. Without this type of support, we would not be able to fund the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service and be available to help those who are in need of our services."
