Ashley Matthews

Ashley is a commercial, practical and pragmatic solicitor with extensive employment litigation and advisory experience. She has advised on a broad range of employment law matters including unfair dismissal, redundancy, unlawful deductions, restrictive covenants, TUPE, whistle-blowing and all types of discrimination. She also advises on the employment law aspects of corporate transactions.

Ashley regularly advises on bringing and defending Employment Tribunal claims, litigation strategy and settlement negotiations.

Ashley provides clients with assistance on day-to-day workplace matters including performance management, sickness absence and capability, disciplinary issues, employee grievances and managed exits. Ashley has guided clients through complex restructuring and redundancy projects. She is also skilled in drafting and/or advising on employment contracts, company handbooks, data subject access requests, company policies (including grievance and disciplinary) and bespoke settlement agreements.

Education

Ashley graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a bachelor’s degree in Law (Hons) before completing the Legal Practice Course and a Masters in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law (Bloomsbury), achieving a distinction. Ashley was admitted as a solicitor in 2018.
