Sue has extensive experience in elderly client legal services and Court of Protection work which provides a good understanding when dealing with estates that have a deputyship background and where statutory Wills are in place.
Sue is experienced in dealing with assets held in Jersey and the procedures involved.
Sue has experience of estates where there are private company shares and has a good understanding of business property relief and also agricultural property relief where an estate attracts inheritance tax.
Previous work has included acting for Thomson Snell & Passmore professional executors where beneficiaries are resident outside the U.K.
Sue’s varied life skills include dealing with individuals deeply traumatised by the circumstances of their loss and supporting those left behind.
Types of clients
A high percentage of Sue’s clients are elderly widows and widowers, family members where deceased was under the Court of Protection and retired professionals.
Sue was originally a secretary in Thomson Snell & Passmore and re-joined in 2001 after taking a career break to bring up a family. Since re-joining she has qualified as a Legal Executive in October 2005. She was admitted as a Fellow in October 2007. Sue is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
