Susanna regularly represents both commercial and individual clients in the employment tribunal and also acts for clients in the High Court. She has particular expertise in contentious employment work in particular discrimination claims, post-termination restrictions and the recovery and protection of confidential information. She regularly acts for senior executives and employees where she assists, guides and advises them on how to maximise their contract negotiations at the start of new employment, as well as assisting in the facilitation and negotiation of exits, when the employment relationship ends.

Recent examples of some of Susanna's work inlcude:

  • Acting for Canon Jeremy Pemberton in his discrimination and harassment claim against the Reverend Richard Inwood. This test case is now in the Court of Appeal. Canon Pemberton is the first Church of England priest to marry his same sex partner following the introduction of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013. As a result of which his license to officiate was revoked and he is now unable to work as a Chaplain
  • Acting for a senior executive in his disability discrimination and harassment claim against a large global company. The hearing went to a 15 day final hearing and the company settled the case for a substantial six figure sum just before judgement was handed down
  • Representing an educational college to defend two tribunal claims: one for sex discrimination and the other for disability discrimination
  • Acting for a director in respect of defending threatened High Court proceedings for taking confidential information.
