  • Overview

Our client, AB, sustained a brain injury when he was involved in a road traffic accident. AB received a final damages award and we were appointed to mange AB’s finances on his behalf.

Our client, AB, was originally from a country outside this jurisdiction and he still has family living in his home country. There is a cultural expectation on AB to provide financially for his family abroad.

We liaised with both AB and his brother to see how best to meet these cultural and financial expectations. We then made a successful application to the Court of Protection for authority to gift money every month to AB’s family at home.

This case has demonstrated our ability to take a holistic approach to our clients circumstances. In this case we showed flexibility and sensitivity when dealing with complex matters involving a client with specific cultural consideration
