Thomson Snell & Passmore advise local farmer on acquisition of land for duck business

Penny Edgar acted for a local farmer on their acquisition of land for, amongst other uses, their duck rearing business and potentially setting up a local shoot.

One of the buildings on the farm was subject to an agricultural occupancy restriction that had to be lifted prior to purchase. The purchase was partially funded by a bank loan secured on this land and the client’s other farm. It was important to ensure that the property was ‘fit for purpose’ for the client’s business interests and that there were no restrictions which could affect it, given the value of the property.
