Alan was a partner in Thomson Snell & Passmore from 1994 to 2012 and rejoined the firm as a Consultant in 2019.
As an experienced probate lawyer he readily identifies with grieving clients and aims always to provide sensitive and sympathetic support and assistance, but he is also able to draw on earlier litigation experience to help resolve difficulties which occasionally arise.
Alan handles a wide range of estates, which sometimes include business or agricultural property and/or tax-saving investment schemes.
Some of the less usual aspects of his work have included:
- Defeating a claim to probate of a forgery
- Organising a large memorial service in central London for a public figure
- Arranging the sale of a valuable stamp collection
- Attending to the transfer of an advowson
- Arranging a burial at sea.
