Amy Lane

Amy is a Senior Associate at Thomson Snell & Passmore and sits within the Wills, Estate & Tax Planning team.

Amy provides estate planning advice, including inheritance and capital gains tax, to individuals, families, next generation professionals and business owners.  She also advises trustees and beneficiaries, as well as advising on post-death variations.  She also advises on Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Amy trained and qualified at a prominent regional firm and remained with the firm upon qualification in 2016.  She joined the team at Thomson Snell & Passmore in May 2019.

Advising on Inheritance Tax planning during lifetime and post-death arrangements

Advising on will structures, particularly for asset protection purposes and succession planning for families and companies

Advising on the use of trusts including creation, administration and termination

Administering estates, including those with foreign elements and/or agricultural or business assets

Advising on powers of attorney for property and finances as well as health and welfare, together with powers of attorney for business owners.

Amy is the secretary and a councillor for the Tunbridge Wells & Tonbridge District Law Society.

Amy was shortlisted as one of only six practitioners worldwide in 2019 at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner awards for Young Practitioner of the Year.

Amy is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, holding the diploma in tax and estate planning.

Amy is a full member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly known as Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE)), and a Dementia Friend.

Amy read law at the University of Sussex where she obtained an honours degree and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London. She trained and qualified as a solicitor in 2016 at another regional firm and joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2019.

Amy is studying to become a Notary Public.
