Paralegal, Clinical Negligence & Personal injury

Karin Baker

Karin is a paralegal in our specialist Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury department. She assists on a wide variety of cases, including high value brain injury cases, and those involving substandard surgery and misdiagnosis. Karin has experience in attending and assisting with inquests and expert conferences. Karin runs her own small caseload of cases and also assists with new enquiries.

Karin joined Thomson Snell & Passmore from another firm of solicitors, building on her experience assisting with personal injury claims and conducting her own Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims. Karin has previously been a legal secretary specialising in clinical negligence litigation and is now building on the initial paralegal experience she had gained in her previous firm. Karin is able to liaise and empathise and is acutely aware of how distressing it is for anyone who has suffered a medical accident.

Outside of work Karin enjoys anything to do with vintage scooters and loves music from similar eras. She is a film enthusiast and is a keen dressmaker. Karin was also a SHOUT volunteer, the mental health text support service for which she undertook training and begun volunteering during the pandemic.
